KDG Service Apprenticeship Benefits

Trade School Reimbursement - 100% Paid

Kenwood Dealer Group will reimburse 100% of the tuition paid by the technician to an accredited automotive trade school upon evidence of graduation, up to $18,000.

Tool Reimbursement - 100% Paid

KDG will provide the employee with a "tool voucher" (in lieu of a starter set of tools) for the amount of the cost of a starter set of tools, upon the completion of 2 years employment.

Military Reimbursement

KDG will reimbuse 100% of honorably discharged veterans, that completed study at a Trade School and the tuition was paid by the U.S. Government, up to $18,000.

Relocation Assistance - Up To $1,500

KDG will assist in the cost of relocating employees that join our team living more than 75 miles from their new place of employment, up to $1,500.

Tool Purchase - $1 Tools

KDG will provide a "starter set" of tools and upon completion of 2 years of continuous employment we will transfer ownership to employee for $1.00

Rent Assistance

Need to relocate? KDG will pay rent assistance up to $500 per month for 2 months in verified hardship cases, as relocation assistance.

What to Expect as an Automotive Service Technician
  • Diagnose and repair brake, exhaust, fuel ignition, and electrical systems
  • Perform suspension and alignment repairs
  • Sufficiently explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to your Service Advisor
  • Be prepared to review needed repairs and test drive with customer as requested
  • Constantly learning new technical information and techniques through formal training to keep up with rapidly changing automotive technology
  • Coaching and mentoring newer Technicians to build stronger teams
  • Maintain an organized and neat service bay

Automotive Service Technician Additional Qualifications
  • Current / recent experience as an Automotive Service Technician
  • Manufacturer experience and/or current ASE certifications a plus
  • Valid driver's license: driving record satisfactory to company
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely, daily
